I Started Blogging on WP Eight Years Ago Today; 2012

That’s a lot of writing but I love it. I only changed my subject matter once, about a year ago. Before I blogged on DNA as Time I was focused on Intuition, The Higher Mind and Relationships. You can click on all of those categories if you prefer that subject matter to Mayan. They are all still on here under the tab Blog posts on the Home page.

I also have a blog at https://deeptissuetherapygr.com. That is my business blog and has always been about holistic medicine, the muscles, and Reiki. I have a small business here in Grand Rapids that does pretty well! I’ve been doing it professionally since 2002.

I hope you keep following both of them and feel free to comment.

You are killing me

Urban skyline at sunrise with fog surrounding tall buildings

This is a great blog post about how following faithfully according to your upbringing and being obedient to the status quo is death. It got 101 likes on here.

Your time can belong to you if you take some time out to reflect and meditate.

Prose; Liquid Saturday

©️Lisa K Townsend

I roll around in my warm bed by myself like a dulcet silken bag of potential poetry spoken into an imaginary lovers ear. Or I could sing to him. I haven’t had that opportunity yet.

woman-in-water

I’m happy…really. It’s abundant, nurturing, warm, and close to the earth.

I find the peacefulness of being by myself in a relationship with myself to be magical. I can surf the waves of words that sit below my navel and bring them up into my stomach to digest with my breakfast, then into my heart where my son, cute animals and gentle firemen reside and express it through the voice in my fingers.

Put me on a secure raft in some warm tropical waters and that’s where I am.

Sure, I have to cook, chew my food, do the dishes and take out the trash, but that is atmospheric seasoning to where my percipience is really focused.

My perception is in my body which is still feeling the dream I had last night like a crab secure in its loose-fitting, restful shell.

Only the inspiration of a local tree could suggest I stand up and walk out the door made from it’s relation. The trees get used and splintered for our delight with the fantasy of solid things. My world is really liquid, empty space full of potential.

Essay: Heartset Relevancy

IMG_20161127_165541.jpg

Are we really only relevant to the extent that other human beings find us relevant? Isn’t that why people have dogs and cats? You’re always relevant to your pet if only because they need you to feed them. If you need to be needed, you need to feel relevant. I guess I need to express myself more than be considered relevant.

Or maybe we do literally need to be perceived as relevant in order to make money. That’s really what underlies our actions. We just need money. We have to have money to survive. Many people know how to fake care about others for accolades, fame, sales, and money. Their ego just needs attention. Mine don’t mostly because I find it boring and tedious.

The issue here is there are many superb people doing fabulous work that are irrelevant to the masses because the masses don’t see or appreciate fabulous work. That is the case for many brilliant artists and it remains that way until they die. I’m not doing fabulous work at the moment so that’s not the case for me. If I was doing fabulous work I wouldn’t look for the masses to appreciate it though.

What about relevant to yourself? We’re always more relevant to ourselves than we are to others because they don’t live in our bodies or with us. That’s kind of the crux of it. That is the case for me. I wish I could be paid to be improving my body which is what I’m pre-occupied with. Instead, I live in a system that wants me to pay it to be sick. If I take care of myself and don’t need their pills, surgery, or visits, I’m irrelevant. So they work very hard to convince me and everyone else that there is something wrong with us and we need them. That’s just vacant and evil.

This was a very weird day. My intuition was in high gear and I just rolled with it as usual. Yes, I do want to eventually be relevant because human empowerment to live in balance not overtop of all life is a good thing. That’s what I care about. I find that relevant.

Essay; It’s Nice to Have Someone to Come Home To

Winter Scenes in Moonlight

I wrote this in 2018. It is now August 2026 and I’ve been single since 2016 so I’ve gotten used to just me, the house, the plants, and my work.

We hear people say this all the time, I suppose especially during the holidays. However, I was just out of town at my Mom’s for five days and I was thrilled to come home to the sanctuary I’ve created. I live alone, happily, and my business is here. I’m a quiet meditative person that loves to write and read. It fills me up constantly.

I am the “someone” that I came home to. I have a full life, enjoy my own company and I’m busy as much as I want to be. I did come home to someone; myself. Some people don’t need a mate to be content.

Essay; Do We Really Need to Depend on a Partner Intimately?

Woman on a mountain

It is very true that we are interdependent on one another in the second layer of society; fireman, government workers, health care workers, shop owners, food producers, mail folks, airline pilots and workers, taxi drivers; really an endless list. These are generally people who could be considered strangers or acquaintances in our local area. None of them lives with us. There are literally millions of service workers who are paid to be of service to individuals should they need food or attention. The grocery stores even deliver food to your door if you’re disabled. It’s actually mind-blowing if you think about it. Absolutely anything you could possibly need in terms of material need is now made available to us all over the world, sometimes at the touch of a button by other human beings who are generally happy to be helpful and kind-or appear to be.

But none of that is intimacy. None of those people know us well. They only know us superficially, sometimes less than anyone on social media. But the stats are showing that more and more Americans like living alone especially after their children are grown. It’s also known to actually ruin loving relationships to have children and form a family. I have a theory that the institution of the family is the main reason for gluttony. It looks to me like people who live in a family blow up like a balloon! You’re living so closely with people with whom you function in a prescribed role, that you put on the layers as a defense mechanism. It seems the family is more stressed than ever with a very high divorce rate. Maybe that’s because it’s unnatural but we assume it’s not! There is no disputing that. The main thing that keeps people together is guilt and duty to their children for about ten years. That’s actually not a bad function of negative emotion in this case as children really do thrive on having both parents available if they can at least be civil to one another living in the same household. The child is forming their subconscious mind.

My son is grown and I’m single so I’ve talked to other singles and they all say the same thing; “I miss having someone to talk to.” Well, how much of that talking is defending your ideas to the other person or offloading your emotions that as an adult you’re fully capable of dealing with silently or with a therapist? No two people are exactly alike and one of my least favorite activities is feeling like I have to explain my unusual self to anyone. Just read my writing or ask my patients! My work speaks for itself. Do I really have to talk about it?

I’m a writer so I unload my ideas, observations, and thoughts on the page. If you really want to know me, read what I’ve written. It sort of tells me everything when my friends don’t want to read my book or my blog.  It seems to me that when we talk to someone, we’re writing out loud. The other person is the typewriter or computer keyboard and paper receiving your thoughts. Is that fair to do that to someone else verbally? Most people see you the way they need to see you anyway, not the way you really are. It’s a psychological projection but that’s where we are in society. It may even be less than that. They size you up by how you look and your gender and that’s it! I don’t think they care to see much more. When I really like someone, I just want to be with them, hang out, walk, cook food, lay next to them, have sex. I don’t want to talk all the time. Most people I know aren’t secure enough in themselves to silently hang out.

I’m a giver for a living, or a service worker in that I’m a bodyworker and work in healthcare. I take care of people for a living and love my work. I stay quite busy, my phone rings, people ask for my advice a lot and people are in and out all day. I receive much from doing it as well and charge a fair fee so there is reciprocation. In no way do I feel I’m martyring myself during my work.

But do I really want to spend more time having sex with someone or am I happy to have the time to myself to keep working on my body, working out, buying and preparing healthy food, walking, shopping for new clothes that fit me and all the fun that entails? I’m not a child anymore so I’m not physically dependent on being taken care of physically or financially by a partner. No one is! That is a taboo subject. You’ll always get pushback on that one because of the epidemic of dysfunctional parenting. You don’t have to be a slave to any of that though. Playing the victim and being a victim is a profitable industry and shores up the existence of political parties as does being even more abusive to people that have already been victims. It’s a vicious cycle that only the individual can finally free themselves from. It’s not politically correct of me to point that out either.

I guess I’m in an experimental phase, seeing what I can get away with, how much can I make myself happy and not have to talk to anyone. Silence and peace are good. I adore it and I use it to do good work for others.

Essay: Heartset; I Relate to Every Bit of This (Freebie)

@Lesia.Valentain1. She is not lonelier than those who don’t spend time alone. For some reason, people believe that if you are alone, you are lonely. Girls who love being on their own are an equal amount or less so than those who need people surrounding them. I know you want to question their decisions in isolating…

My book “Healer” is published

My first book is available through the Kindle Store.  The direct link to purchase it is:

“Our families mean a lot to most of us, but they can also attempt to block or control our choices. Many times, we don’t talk about that part because we feel they provide us with a measure of emotional and social security we wouldn’t have otherwise.

We now know that the subconscious mind is programmed by our parents in utero and through the first few years of life. How can we overstep that programming and move into our conscious mind where we make our own choices as adults?

Seventeen years of hands-on clinical experience with patients taught Lisa many ways to achieve it. She learned how to reclaim power over her life and teach it to her patients using holistic medicine and holistic values, Reiki, and Tzolkin Cosmology.

Synchronicity, not coincidence starts to figure into events.  Everything happens for a reason.  Once the lesson is learned, it can be released.”

The paperback will be available for sale in early September, also on Amazon Kindle Store.   Enjoy!

Prose; Publishing Joy

I feel like my baby is about to go off to college.

I’m about to publish my first book and it’s almost time to let it go,

No longer able to control where it goes in the ethers,

Out into the world, warts and all,

Fresh, innocent, never having smelled a book store (yeah right)

Never having gone through the digital or paper mill…

Does that hurt?

My memories, feelings, occurrences, family secrets, pictures,

losses, dates, intimacies, grandparents, babies lost, tears cried,

Oh my god!!!!  Why did I write this memoir????

Stop the presses!  I can’t do this!!!!

I can’t put all of the truths of my life out into the public for perusal and criticism!

Not that anyone will care…but my life has been interesting hasn’t it?

I wrote it so it sounded interesting….yes I did.

Why did I listen to my FRIEND????  She said, “Lisa, write a memoir”

after hearing me tell stories.

Well, what if no one ELSE is the least bit interested?

This is nail-biting territory if anyone reads it.

I seriously do have many mind-bender stories.

What if people think I’m nuts?

There’s no such thing as bad press.

I’m just…a little nervous I guess.

Time fades into oblivion

One memory, one vision of you and I feel whole again.

I remember your voice, your smell, the feel of you next to me.

In time, it was so long ago, yet to my mind, it was yesterday.

My love for you is as natural as my heartbeat.
