Forgiveness frees you, not the person you’re mad at. They are not off the hook if they really did something awful. No individual has the power to judge someone else’s karma or actions with perfect justice. That is for the human courts and the universe courts. So, by forgiving, you bless and release that person to their own karma. That’s what forgiveness is. Get them out of your space. Let the chips fall where they will, and you go on your way. Leave it be!! But if you hold on to your judgment as some kind of emotional authority, you haven’t forgiven.
For those that don’t believe in God or the Universe personalities they will be living their lives with revenge and avenge, as though evolving humans have the wisdom to judge such a thing. Get over yourself. We do our best with our courts and justice system but it is never perfect. Mind your own actions and karma and leave things to judges and juries!
