Alexander Graham Bell invented a device called the ‘telephone’ in 1876. He was arrested in 1878 for selling the devices to “ignorant people” on a street corner. 😳🙄
A newspaper article about it said, “Sane people know it’s impossible to transmit voice over wires, and were it possible, it would be of no value to the citizens of this country.”
Southwestern Bell was founded in 1882 and went on to be one of the largest most successful companies in the country.
