Leucine is important for the general health of muscle. It can stimulate protein synthesis and reduce protein breakdown, especially of muscle protein following physical trauma. It is an essential amino acid in controlling blood sugar or glucose metabolism.
It is very similar in structure to isoleucine, whose Mayan symbol is Blue Hand in the Harmonic. Obviously, healing and accomplishment, which are attributes of Blue Hand, are key in achieving beauty and harmony in life.
Sugar addition, diabetes and obesity are a big problem for humans. We shouldn’t judge people with sugar addiction just as we don’t judge money, retail, alcohol, or fentanyl addiction. Yet obese people are absolutely targeted for ridicule in our society.
