M-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected an M1-class solar flare from growing sunspot 4028. Although this is not a very strong flare, it might have hurled a CME toward Earth. Indeed, Type II radio bursts reported by the US Air Force suggest that a CME might be on the way. Confirmation awaits fresh data from SOHO coronagraphs. Stay tuned. Solar flare alerts: SMS Text.
