EXITING THE STRIKE ZONE: Sunspot AR3664 is still a giant, easily the equal of Carrington’s sunspot, but it poses a declining threat to Earth. Why? Because it is exiting the strike zone. This picture from Philip Smith of Manorville NY shows the active region approaching the sun’s western limb:
CMEs emitted by the departing sunspot are no longer flying toward Earth. At most only glancing blows are likely from eruptions on May 12th through 14th.
The danger could return on May 15th, however. On that date the sunspot will pass through a region of the sun magnetically connected to Earth via the Parker Spiral. Subatomic debris (protons and electrons) from explosions on May 15th and 16th could spiral back to Earth and rain down our planet. This is called a “radiation storm;” it can upset satellite electronics and cause polar radio blackouts. (It can also make humans feel virusy sick.)

AURORAS IN FLORIDA, PUERTO RICO, MEXICO: Many people around the world have just seen auroras for the first time in their lives. This includes residents of the Florida Keys. Ron Jarrell sends this photo from Big Pine Key at latitude 24.7° N:
“The auroras were so beautiful!” says Jarrell, who needed no more than his smartphone to photograph the display.
Seeing auroras in the Florida Keys is extraordinary, but the light show didn’t stop there. Sky watchers saw the sky turn red across the Carribean. These pictures were taken from the southeast coast of Puerto Rico at latitude 18.1° N:

“The last events on record when auroras were seen from Puerto Rico were in 1859 and 1921, so tonight was an historic event”, says Eddie Irizarry from the Sociedad de Astronomia del Caribe (Astronomical Society of the Caribbean).
Auroras also appeared in Mexico. René Saade photographed the display looking north from the beach in Mazatlan, Sinaloa at latitude 23.2° N:
“This is not something you see every day–auroras and palm trees,” says Saade. “Amazing!”

Interesting line-up in shadow. Very karmic. Back in 1962 the Draco still had much control in our local system. They weren’t routed yet and were the impetus for our wars, WW1, WW2, and Vietnam. The locks were only put on our system only recently. They have historically relied on the support of the ICC (Jupiter) but I don’t believe it is forthcoming anymore. They are trapped here but can do nothing to us, at all.
Time can not be plotted on a Cartesian coordinate plane. (See below) Time is not just linear math, geometry, and algebra, and space plotted on a 2D plane.
Time is not dead, bloodless, motherless computer science. Time is life. It’s bloody alive and fertile and bonded to its mother. It’s alive and dynamic. Time is evolving RNA in all sentient life forms.
A life form is sentient only if it has blood and a soul and was created and birthed through a mother. A.I. isn’t sentient. Computers aren’t smart. They are a clever man made tool. It was created and programmed by humans to be clever. Clever is better than dumb but it isn’t wise.
It has no feelings and no love, and it never will. I’m pretty sure that’s the way some of its creators want it since they are mostly atheists. The last thing they believe in or know is Source. The last thing most of them care about is evolution and humans.

He would not cede his personal authority to the Jewish priests, Jesus being Jewish, but only to God.

It’s pulsing beta hz, Yellow 3rd line up. These layers of the magnestosphere, all the way around the earth, are pulsing sound at specific hertz levels to affect our bodies, our evolution. Sound has been known for millenia to have a direct, real effect on our bodies and brains, a MANIFESTATION of energy. Energy is a thing, a noun. It’s not abstract like an idea. It’s real.
Achieving organic balance allows you to start channeling attunement. It is a direct experience of aligning one’s own bodies. A person who is not tuned in to harmony feels discomfort and dissatisfaction. Tone 7 also teaches us to recognize the resonance of people and phenomena. Without learning how to conduct their strict selection, it is impossible to enjoy the fruits of such attunement. This could lead to conflicts or impulsive behaviors, especially if we feel trapped, restricted, or limited. We should watch for these tendencies while seeking creative, inventive ways to get ahead. A Venus-Neptune semi-square also in play is distracting in a different way. There can be a tendency to gloss over problems or see what we want to see, imagining the best or the worst. Alternatively, we might go in the other direction and look the other way in the face of critical flaws and details.

‘: Multiple CMEs are heading for Earth (see the movie below). A new NOAA forecast model suggests that three of them could merge to form a potent “Cannibal CME.” Cannibal CMEs form when fast-moving CMEs overtake slower CMEs in front of them. Internal shock waves created by such CME collisions do an good job sparking geomagnetic storms when they strike Earth’s magnetic field. A NOAA forecast model predicts that two or three of these CMEs could merge to form a Cannibal CME, which will strike Earth during the early hours of May 11th. Cannibal CMEs are notoriously good at sparking strong geomagnetic storms and low latitude auroras. In fact, NOAA is now predicting a G4-class (Severe) storm on May 11th when the Cannibal arrives.
So I guess it’s going to eat our flesh since it’s a Cannibal. Thanks, NOAA.

A CARRINGTON-CLASS SUNSPOT: Sunspot AR3664 has grown so large, it now rivals the great Carrington sunspot of 1859. To illustrate their similarity, we’ve added Carrington’s famous sketch (to scale) to a NASA photo of today’s sun:
Sprawling almost 200,000 km from end to end, AR3664 is 15 times wider than Earth. You can see it through ordinary eclipse glasses with no magnification at all. Moreover, it is easy to project an image of this sunspot onto the sidewalk or a white screen just as Carrington did in the 19th century.
Carrington’s sunspot is famous because in August and Sept. 1859 it emitted a series of intense solar flares and CMEs. The resulting geomagnetic storms set fire to telegraph offices and sparked auroras from Cuba to Hawaii. The “Carrington Event” has since become a touchstone of space weather in pop culture, with recent headlines stoking fears of an “internet apocalypse” if it repeats.
Indeed, it could repeat. Studies suggest that Carrington-class storms occur once every 40 to 60 years, so we’re overdue. CMEs currently en route to Earth will not cause a new Carrington Event; they are puny compared to the CMEs of 1859. Choosing to follow good influences brings supreme success. You may not be able to change the direction of the wind, but by frequently adjusting your sails, you can arrive at your destination with a joy that inspires others to follow you.
Those who wish to acquire a following must speak the language of their followers. Those who wish to be loved must become the imagined lover of their beloved. Those who wish to prosper must bend with the pressures of the world. In matters of principle, stand firm; in matters of style and taste, swim with the current. If guile or self-aggrandizement enters the equation, resistance will be what follows. Focus on the common good in order to remain unharmed.
In the affairs of humanity, change is constant; old ideas are discarded in favor of new ones. A great leader can emerge only by being adaptable to the demands of the times. When a person of vision undertakes a challenge, he or she must sometimes change direction in the course of events. When these changes result from sincere communication with those of different opinions, good fortune will follow. But care must be taken not to be swayed by current opinion. Carry your convictions out into the crowd. Stay open to the ideas of others, but hold your ground on matters of integrity.

Choose your associates carefully. If you have incompetent people around you, this may be the time to dismiss them, or to at least distance yourself from them. On the other hand, be wary of associating only with the strong and powerful. The moon shines brightly in a sea of small stars but vanishes with the rising of a single sun.

As you move through life, opportunities arise to develop associations with powerful, distinguished, honorable people. Associating with them brings good fortune. But each new connection with someone of valuable influence may require an equal and opposite diminishing of a relationship you have with someone less influence. The strong of heart leave behind what is superficial and accept the challenge of developing better relationships.

It often happens that as a person attains a position of influence, he or she attracts a chorus of flatterers who use their supposed loyalty to gain personal advantage. Be wary of such flatterers. Their influence is subtle but can be destructive. Flattery is most effective with the immodest (people with large egos). Not being able to see parasites for what they are is a precursor to misfortune.

It may be time to seek the counsel of someone wiser and more experienced than you are. Be receptive to advice from a person you respect, and make the proper adjustments. If he or she agrees to work actively on behalf of your cause or enterprise, supreme good fortune will result. Another possibility here is that through understanding and respect, you will be joined by a follower who forms a supportive bond with you.
The discovery of an early ninth century burning event marks a turning point in Maya rule, archeologists say.
The find is a rare archaeological pinpointing of a historic turning point.
Burning Maya artifacts, some a century old at the time, was likely a well-attended public event.
The discovery at the Maya site of Ucanal in Guatemala “marked a public dismantling of an old regime”—a rather pivotal moment in the collapse of rulers and key point in political power that isn’t often shown so clearly from an archeological find, the authors write in a study published in the journal Antiquity.
The event in question occurred at the capital of the K’anwitznal kingdom near a burial site. The bodies and their ornaments—items include a jewel-adorned stone mask, fragments of a greenstone diadem, and jade ornaments—were moved from a tomb to a public burning site, where fire engulfed some of the centuries-old items for all to see.
The new leadership regime welcomed a non-royal leader called Papmalil, and there is little in the written record indicating how he came to power. “Papmalil’s rule was not only seminal because of his possible foreign origins—perhaps breaking the succession of ruling dynasts at the site—but also because his rule shifted political dynamics in the southern Maya lowlands.”
The study’s authors, led by Christina Halperin at the University of Montreal, state that Papmalil appears to have ushered in an era of prosperity. Substantial construction occurred in both the civic-ceremonial core and outer residential zones of the city following the power shift.
That new era may have had a dramatic beginning.
The team said evidence indicates that the human bone and ornaments had once been part of the contents of a Late Classic royal tomb, and the deposit was part of a fire-entering rite that “marked the symbolic and literal destruction of an earlier K’anwitznal dynastic line.”
The authors state that the event “appears to have bene an act of desecration: it was dumped at the edge of a crude wall used as a construction pen and no effort was made to protect the fragmented bones and ornaments from the tomb blocks deposited on top of them as construction fill.” It all likely made for a “dramatic public affair” meant to be charged with emotion. “It could dramatically mark,” they wrote, “the dismantling of an ancient regime.”
Look at the center of the arches. For as long as I’ve been tracking ScR, I have never seen that vertical pulse.

That wave is the primary holonomic radiologic field pattern, and it’s showing as the ELM background of the magnetosphere. It appears to us as the auroras. That’s the visual aspect of our time harmonic.

A new study hints that humans have magnetoreception abilities, similar to some other animals.

A new analysis of people’s brain waves when surrounded by different magnetic fields suggests that people have a “sixth sense” for magnetism.
Birds, fish and some other creatures can sense Earth’s magnetic field and use it for navigation (SN: 6/14/14, p. 10). Scientists have long wondered whether humans, too, boast this kind of magnetoreception. Now, by exposing people to an Earth-strength magnetic field pointed in different directions in the lab, researchers from the United States and Japan have discovered distinct brain wave patterns that occur in response to rotating the field in a certain way.
These findings, reported in a study published online March 18 in eNeuro, offer evidence that people do subconsciously respond to Earth’s magnetic field — although it’s not yet clear exactly why or how our brains use this information.
“The first impression when I read the [study] was like, ‘Wow, I cannot believe it!’” says Can Xie, a biophysicist at Peking University in Beijing. Previous tests of human magnetoreception have yielded inconclusive results. This new evidence “is one step forward for the magnetoreception field and probably a big step for the human magnetic sense,” he says. “I do hope we can see replications and further investigations in the near future.”

During the experiment, 26 participants each sat with their eyes closed in a dark, quiet chamber lined with electrical coils. These coils manipulated the magnetic field inside the chamber such that it remained the same strength as Earth’s natural field but could be pointed in any direction. Participants wore an EEG cap that recorded the electrical activity of their brains while the surrounding magnetic field rotated in various directions.
This setup simulated the effect of someone turning in different directions in Earth’s natural, unchanging field without requiring a participant to actually move. (Complete stillness prevented motor-control thoughts from tainting brain waves due to the magnetic field.) The researchers compared these EEG readouts with those from control trials where the magnetic field inside the chamber didn’t move.
Joseph Kirschvink, a neurobiologist and geophysicist at Caltech, and colleagues studied alpha waves to determine whether the brain reacts to changes in magnetic field direction. Alpha waves generally dominate EEG readings while a person is sitting idle but fade when someone receives sensory input, like a sound or touch.
Sure enough, changes in the magnetic field triggered changes in people’s alpha waves. Specifically, when the magnetic field pointed toward the floor in front of a participant facing north — the direction that Earth’s magnetic field points in the Northern Hemisphere — swiveling the field counterclockwise from northeast to northwest triggered an average 25 percent dip in the amplitude of alpha waves. That change was about three times as strong as natural alpha wave fluctuations seen in control trials.

Curiously, people’s brains showed no responses to a rotating magnetic field pointed toward the ceiling — the direction of Earth’s field in the Southern Hemisphere. Four participants were retested weeks or months later and showed the same responses.
“It’s kind of intriguing to think that we have a sense of which we’re not consciously aware,” says Peter Hore, a chemist at the University of Oxford who has studied birds’ internal compasses. But “extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof, and in this case, that includes being able to reproduce it in a different lab.”
Questions raised
If these findings are able to be replicated, they pose several questions — such as why people seem to respond to downward- but not upward-pointing fields. Kirschvink and colleagues think they have an answer: “The brain is taking [magnetic] data, pulling it out and only using it if it makes sense,” Kirschvink says.
Participants in this study, who all hailed from the Northern Hemisphere, should perceive downward-pointing magnetic fields as natural, whereas upward fields would constitute an anomaly, the researchers argue. Magnetoreceptive animals are known to shut off their internal compasses when encountering weird fields, such as those caused by lightning, which might lead the animals astray. Northern-born humans may similarly take their magnetic sense “offline” when faced with strange, upward-pointing fields.
This explanation “seems plausible,” Hore says, but would need to be tested in an experiment with participants from the Southern Hemisphere.
The brain’s attention to counterclockwise but not clockwise rotations “is something surprising that we don’t really have a good explanation for,” says coauthor Connie Wang, who studies magnetoperception at Caltech. Some people may respond to clockwise rotations, just like some people are left-handed rather than right-handed, or clockwise rotations generate brain activity not captured in the alpha wave signal, she says.
Even accounting for which magnetic changes the brain picks up, researchers still don’t know what our minds might use that information for, Kirschvink says. Another lingering mystery is how, exactly, our brains detect Earth’s magnetic field. According to the researchers, the brain wave patterns uncovered in this study may be explained by sensory cells containing a magnetic mineral called magnetite, which has been found in magnetoreceptive trout as well as in the human brain (SN: 8/11/12, p. 13). Future experiments could confirm or eliminate that possibility.
With this first compelling evidence that humans are subconsciously processing magnetic signals, “we can [try to] identify the brain region it originates from and try to identify the nature of the cells” responsible, says Michael Winklhofer, a magnetoreception researcher at the University of Oldenburg in Germany. “This is really the first step.”

What do birds and bees, worms and wolves, fruit flies and fish all have in common? The answer: a magnetic sense that helps them navigate. Now it seems we might do as well.
Joseph Kirschvink at the California Institute of Technology in the US and colleagues found that altering the directions of nearby magnetic fields caused temporary changes in human brain activity.
While sitting still in a dark room, participants’ brain activity was recorded using electroencephalography (EEG), while electromagnetic coils were used to create magnetic fields.
The experiment mimicked the magnetic field changes we are subject to when we move about in the real world, says Kirschvink.
The direction and intensity of Earth’s magnetic field varies by geographical location. For example, at the magnetic north pole, one of two poles where the magnetic field is the strongest, the direction of the field points vertically downwards, into the ground.
In the wider northern hemisphere, this vertical angle changes but the magnetic field is always skewed downwards – meaning that when you hold a compass horizontally, the end pointing north is slightly pulled down. The south-pointing end of some compasses in the northern hemisphere are weighted to compensate for the pull.
Brain change
When the team exposed people to a downward-pointing magnetic field, they saw changes in brain wave patterns when they rotated the field horizontally in a counterclockwise direction .
The team measured alpha waves – present when we are awake but relaxed and with closed eyes – before and after a 100 millisecond change in magnetic field, and found a drop in amplitude in the waves in some people following the rotation.
But no participants showed brain changes when the magnetic field was rotated clockwise, a finding the researchers can’t explain.
Rotating an upwards-pointing magnetic field didn’t cause a change either, which the team speculates may be because the participants’ brains were attuned to the magnetic field of the northern hemisphere, where they conducted the study. Earth’s magnetic field always points up in the southern hemisphere.
“One interesting way to test this hypothesis would be to reproduce our experiment in the southern hemisphere,” says team member Isaac Hilburn.
Claims that humans can detect magnetic fields has long been a source of controversy, but other researchers are cautiously optimistic about the new work.
The team’s approach parallels studies of magnetoreception in animals, says Nathan Putman at LGL, an ecological research firm based in Bryan, Texas. Putman, who studies marine animals including turtles, says the strongest evidence for a magnetic sense is when animals change their direction of travel in response to an altered field.
The possibility that humans could have a magnetic sense is exciting, but the results will need to be replicated, he says. “A sceptic could argue that there’s a lot of reasons why brain waves might change and it may not have anything to do with orientation.”
It is possible the EEGs could have picked up disruptions from the surrounding environment, says Can Xie at Peking University in China, although the study tried to eliminate this, he says. “It is hard to interpret the EEG signal precisely, which makes it difficult to further explore the underlying molecular mechanism at this stage.”
If the results hold up, it may mean that a magnetic sense played a role in the nomadic lives of our hunter-gatherer ancestors, says Hilburn.

All 200 passengers died except the defectors. The plane was set on fire by the U.S. military or D.O.D. but it is on record as disappearing without a trace. I posted previously on it.

ANOTHER STRONG X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Hyperactive sunspot AR3663 erupted again today, producing a strong X4.5-class solar flare. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash:
Radiation from the flare caused a deep shortwave blackout around the Indian Ocean. Mariners and ham radio operators may have noticed loss of signal at frequencies below 30 MHz for as much as 30 minutes after the flare’s peak (0635 UT).
This marks the 4th X-flare since May 3rd (X1.6, X1.2, X1.2, X4.5), making AR3663 the most active sunspot of Solar Cycle 25 so far. AR3663 is flaring so often because it has an unstable ‘beta-gamma-delta’ magnetic field, in which opposite polarities are bumping together in explosive proximity.

MID-LATITUDE AURORAS IN EUROPE: A CME expected to hit Earth on May 5th arrived right on time. Solar wind data suggest a close encounter around 1800 UT in good accord with NASA and NOAA predictions. The resulting G1-class geomagnetic storm sparked mid-latitude auroras in Europe:
“Auroras surprisingly appeared here in the Czech Republic at latitude +50 N,” reports photographer Petr Horálek at the Institute of Physics in Opava. “They were visible to the naked eye despite the cirrus clouds.”
This might not have been a direct hit. Normally, on-target CMEs produce a sharp discontinuity in the speed of solar wind blowing around our planet. Not this time. We are in a matrix of creative magic. Time is art. That will never change, but there is no more casting of spells over us that control our lives or Destiny; particularly Jupiter or Saturn Time Thieves or nefarious E.T.’s.
I’m speaking of in-person testimony from military whistle blowers who have seen, heard, and been places that are being kept secret from the American Public and know things about our local solar system that are kept from us. There is plenty of tech and information that’s been given to us now that we can seriously change our life style on the surface for the better if the president and a handful of elite tech companies will respect humans and share.
We might not want to count on them having a change of heart, but the network grid around the planet no longer supports the success of the selfish MINDSET. The unified group mind, balanced in female and male, in dark and light, in ying/yang has taken hold now.
Magic is INSIDE our bodies, and our focused minds can co-create with our Creator. That is fully possible on Earth now. Most of what is occurring has everything to do with our BODIES and whether we love ourselves or not. Our lives are a blank canvas, and our bodies are the paintbrush with which we paint our lives. We choose the details of our destiny, and that is universal law as long as we can focus our own minds and apply ourselves. That’s been the hiccup so far.
Today is Yellow 6 Warrior which is about organizing our lives so we can question everything we see in The Matrix, this hologram of time and DNA spinning in and around us. It’s a dynamic ART STUDIO run by our minds and intentions.
I was thinking this morning how much I dislike being able to pick up vibes from people I know coming in my psychic space uninvited, and then I’m able to read them. They don’t have an appointment. Why are they coming to mind in a negative fashion?
It’s up to me to overstep their energy wanting to come into my space because they’re benefiting from me but I’m not benefiting from them, and FOCUS my mind on what I DO want in my space and get busy. When you form this habit of being able to pivot your mind you are able to output intelligence for the goal of equality!
There is no natural equality on Earth; we all have to apply ourselves. The ones that don’t apply themselves are going to be victims and want to be rescued.
The analog is Blue 6 Night which is dreaming, intuition, and abundance. We all need to get on that beam and it takes mental discipline. The mediating planet for Yellow Warrior and Blue Night is SATURN. Blue Night is logical, powerful, conservative, introspective and has extra strength to endure. Guide Power is itself which gives the day extra ummpph.
The antipode is White 6 Worldbridger so in order to achieve our own mental focus we’re going to have to forgive people who come into our space to take and are not interested in reciprocation, giving or sharing. Forgiveness is about cutting a cord and setting a boundary. That person is no longer allowed in your mental space. This is a multidimensional transformation because you realize you have A DUTY to honor your time and your body to get the work done you came here for. You don’t have time for users and off loaders and you’re literally not supposed to entertain them in your space. It is a type of death and one you’ll come to embrace.
The Hidden Wisdom is Red 8 Galactic Serpent who models integrity and harmony. We use survival instinct and life force to paint the picture of our lives. It doesn’t have to be “beautiful”. It can be whatever you prefer just as long as you realize many people might not like it because it’s not their thing and will turn away. People don’t have to agree but they also don’t need to get dramatic or mean about dissing. Humans are weird about the group agreement thing. Just do your own thing if others are not in affinity. It’s not negative at all to be by yourself for awhile.

X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE (UPDATED): New sunspot AR3663 erupted this morning, May 3rd @ 0222 UT, producing an X1.6-class solar flare. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the extreme ultraviolet flash:
Radiation from the flare ionized the top of Earth’s atmosphere and caused a deep shortwave radio blackout over Australia, Japan, and much of China: map. Ham radio operators may have noticed loss of signal below 30 MHz for a half an hour after the flare’s peak.
Update: Shortly after the flare, the US Air Force reported a Type II solar radio burst, a type of natural radio signal emitted by shocked gas at the leading edge of a CME. Drift rates within the burst indicate a launch speed of 960 km/s (3.6 million mph). SOHO coronagraph images have since confirmed the existence of a CME. The bulk of the cloud will pass north of our planet, with its southern flank delivering a glancing blow late on May 5th. G1 to G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible when the CME arrives. SPACEX SPIRAL SIGHTED DURING GEOMAGNETIC STORM: Last night, sky watchers in Europe went outside to observe the fading glow of a strong (G3) geomagnetic storm. “I was looking for aurora borealis after sunset, when suddenly a bright yellow object appeared near Polaris,” reports Gabriel Murawski from Dusia Lake, Lithuania. It was a SpaceX spiral:
Earlier the same day, SpaceX launched a pair of Earth observation satellites from California onboard a Falcon 9 rocket (May 2nd @ 1836 UTC). After deploying the satellites, the Falcon 9’s second stage performed a de-orbit burn; a bit of spin twisted the exhaust into a glowing spiral.
“It looked amazing!” says Murawski. “The spiral gliding next to the violet aurora borealis made a spectacular scene.”
Spirals are an increasingly routine by-product of SpaceX operations, with many recent Falcon 9 launches creating them. Similar swirls have been photographed over Norway, New Zealand, east Africa, Hawaii, and most famous of all, this specimen over Alaska. If you haven’t seen one yet, it may be just a matter of time.
DOUBLE CME STRIKE (UPDATED): Two CMEs struck Earth’s magnetic field on May 2nd. Individually, the impacts were minor, but together they sparked a strong G3-class geomagnetic storm with auroras as far south as Washington in the USA. COMET 12P/PONS-BROOKS AND THE SOLAR WIND: “Solar wind” is a relatively new idea. The first scientist to think of it may have been Sir. Arthur Eddington who, in 1910, suggested that Comet Morehouse might be shaped by some unseen gaseous outflow from the sun. Astronomers didn’t think much of his suggestion. It might have been an easier sell if they had seen this picture of Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks:
Michael Mattiazzo photographed the comet on April 30th from Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia. “The comet’s tail is incredibly active,” he says.
Most of the ripples, curls, and streamers captured so beautifully in Mattiazzo’s photo are caused by the buffeting of solar wind. Not only that, the comet’s tail is pointing directly away from the sun–another sign that Eddington’s “outflow” really exists.
Eventually, Eddington’s idea started to catch on among other researchers, although it was a slow process with widespread acceptance taking almost 50 years. American astrophysicist Eugene Parker coined the term “solar wind” around 1957. In January 1959, the Soviet spacecraft Luna 1 directly observed the solar wind and measured its strength for the first time.
This month, amateur astronomers in the southern hemisphere can behold the effects of solar wind with their own eyes. Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks is emerging from an April close encounter with the sun (perihelion), and its wind-sculpted tail is a beautiful sight through backyard telescopes. Point your optics here.

Automated software maintained by NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office calculates their orbits, velocity, penetration depth in Earth’s atmosphere and many other characteristics.
