While Neptune is in Aries, we idealize independence, courage, bravery, freedom, and fresh starts. We might also inflate our importance in times of insecurity, which can be quite detrimental. “THE SKY BURST INTO FLAMES”: Last night in Finland, Sebastian Sainio went outside to photograph some “pretty normal” green auroras. They didn’t stay normal for long. “All of a sudden, the sky burst into flames, and this beautiful corona appeared behind our local radio tower,” he says.

Sainio wasn’t the only one. Karsten Berger in Muonio, Finland, also described the light show as an explosion. It was so bright, she says, “the intensity saturated the camera of my iPhone.”

The outburst was probably caused by the arrival of a co-rotating interaction region (CIR) during the late hours of March 25th. CIRs are transition zones between fast- and slow-moving streams of solar wind; they contain shock waves akin to CMEs. This particular CIR is powered by solar wind flowing from a giant hole in the sun’s atmosphere.

Rainbow colors even reached the USA. Gregory Ash sends this picture from Duluth, Minnesota:

“It was a beautiful rainbow bouquet,” says Ash. “I was serenaded by geese and swans in this small pond north of Duluth while the auroras danced overhead.”

This is a “coronal hole”–a vast region in the sun’s corona where the magnetic field has opened up, allowing solar wind to escape. It looks dark in SDO images because hot glowing gas normally contained there is missing. It’s on its way to Earth.

Sunday-Understanding Tryptophan: The Essential Amino Acid

I woke up with an edge on this vibe, for sure. We all feel passionate about someone or something that is wrong or just totally unacceptable, or the opposite, something that gets our mojo going. This man was super intelligent and involved in politics and diplomacy. He was a giant of a man in every way. Very social. He got around.

Saturn was his mediating planet and made him obessessed with work, and he never stopped painting. He was prolific and was hated for it. Humans don’t like others who are excellent and over the top. They get jealous and petty. This was just the way he was. He wasn’t trying to be anything else. He reminds me of Michel Angelo. A true gift to humanity.

Most of the alien bodies have been sent to Great Britain for storage and examination. M-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected an M1-class solar flare from growing sunspot 4028. Although this is not a very strong flare, it might have hurled a CME toward Earth.
