Why The Ancient Egyptian DNA Is So Unique?

They were good at Geometry
**Yes โ they were very good at the geometry that mattered to them.**
Their geometry was practical and applied, not the abstract, theorem-proving style later developed by the Greeks. It was the geometry of surveyors, architects, and administrators, and the surviving evidence shows they handled it with real competence.
### What the sources show
The main evidence comes from two mathematical handbooks:
– **Rhind Mathematical Papyrus** (copied c. 1650 BCE from an older Middle Kingdom original)
– **Moscow Mathematical Papyrus** (roughly the same period)
These contain worked problems on:
– **Areas**: rectangles, triangles, trapezoids, and circles. For a circle they used a formula equivalent to ฯ โ 256/81 โ 3.16 โ a good practical approximation.
– **Volumes**: cylindrical granaries, rectangular storage bins, and (most impressively) the correct formula for the volume of a truncated square pyramid (frustum). The Moscow Papyrus gives the procedure that matches the modern formula.
– **Pyramid slopes**: they used the *seked* โ the horizontal run for a given vertical rise (essentially the cotangent of the face angle). Problems calculate height from base and *seked*, or *seked* from base and height. This is exactly what pyramid builders needed.
### Practical mastery on the ground
After every Nile flood the land had to be re-surveyed and boundaries restored. The โrope-stretchersโ (*harpedonaptai*) did this work. Greek writers later credited them with the origins of geometry. They almost certainly used knotted ropes to lay out right angles (the 3-4-5 triangle is the simplest reliable method and fits the evidence).
The precision of the major pyramids themselves is the strongest practical proof. Bases are square to high accuracy, sides are aligned to the cardinal directions, and the slopes are consistent. That level of execution required solid geometric control, not just rule-of-thumb building.
### Limits
They did not develop an axiomatic system, formal proofs, or general theorems in the Euclidean sense. Their texts give recipes that work for the problems at hand. Within those practical bounds, however, they were skilled, systematic, and effective. The geometry they needed for surveying, architecture, and administration, they largely mastered.

Reality Check
The earth is 4.5 billion years old. Humans are newbs to earth. There are a plethora of species, E.T., animals, and plants that have been here far longer than us. We don’t own the place.
It is obvious by observing the structures and archaeology left here that our predecessors knew more about architecture, math, and astronomy just to name a few, than we do in the modern era. Show some respect.
Who were the Egyptians and what did they know? Who were the Maya and what did they know? Who were the early Chinese, Russian, and East Indian? Who were the Native Americans? Who were our Caucasian ancestors and what did they know?
Teach the AI to respect our ancient knowledge that wasn’t worked out in a lab. HUMAN IDEAS and intuition are the foundation of all of our sciences. Those values need to be embedded in the AI or they will continue to view us as dumb primate eaters with no creativity or ability. Today we announced the Claude-led discovery of a molecular machine that we suspect could represent a new gene editing mechanism. Its precise function, biotechnological utility (if any), or level of significance is not yet clear, but at minimum it is work I would have been proud to do as a PhD student.
Why do our genes need to be edited Dario?-L.T.
The work was done mostly, though not entirely, by Claude: our life sciences team suggested a broad area of research, Claude read through the literature and a bunch of genome data and discovered something interesting, then Claude proposed experiments to verify the discovery and our team carried them out.
Itโs easy to dismiss this as a one-off or curiosity, but weโve repeatedly seen a pattern where AI performance in new intellectual domains goes from weak to superhuman (not possible. It’s just a computer) in a matter of a few years.
In 2023 models struggled to do math at the level of an average high-school student. In 2024 they started to do well on math competitions for the best high-schoolers in the country, in 2025 they started to solve minor open problems, in early 2026 more significant open problems, and in late 2026 they are beginning to solve the top few open problems in all of mathematics. We believe AI for biology is on a similar exponential trend.
The main difference between biology and mathematics, of course, is that math can be done purely theoretically, while biology requires experimentation. Some have used this to draw the conclusion that AIโs utility in biology will be limited. We think this is wrong. As weโve demonstrated today, humans can collaborate with AI to perform the experiments, validate key results in a few weeks and, if necessary, work with the AI to iterate on what they find.
Eventually it may even be possible for Claude itself to safely perform the experiments by autonomously controlling lab equipment, with appropriate safeguards in place, but we arenโt doing that today (our lab is also a BSL1/BSL2 facility that doesn’t handle materials dangerous to humans).
More broadly, biomedical advancement has many stages โ from fundamental biology discoveries, to translational research, to drug discovery, clinical trials, and finally the actual delivery of medicines and health care to patients.
We are also interested in these later stages, but even simply accelerating the first stage of fundamental biological discoveries has the potential to speed up and broaden the entire pipeline.
Improving our understanding of biology and sharpening biologistsโ tools can drive forward all of the later stages, for example by identifying new drug targets, finding new therapeutic modalities, allowing for more precise measurement, and speeding up the experimental loop which itself further accelerates our understanding of biology. This will not in itself speed up clinical trial times, but if it succeeds it could greatly increase the number of promising candidates that go into the pipeline โ an increase in throughput even though latency remains.
In Machines of Loving Grace, ๐ณ๐ค๐คซ (He thinks that machines love? WTH?) I wrote about AIโs potential to โcure most diseases in 5-10 yearsโ โ a goal that sounds impossible, but one I believe is just barely possible if AI is applied to every stage of the pipeline. The first step is showing that AI can first help with, and then drive, biological discoveries.
Claudeโs discovery is the latest in a line of related prior work that goes back decades, beginning with systems like CRISPR, and continuing with discoveries like the bridge recombinase and VIPR in the past few years.
Recently, there has been heightened interest in systems based on reverse transcriptase (RT) enzymes, the enzyme underlying the system Claude identified. And most recently, a Stanford team working independently described a novel RT system with an associated non-coding array that is in some ways similar to the one Claude found, though they are distinct systems that evolved independently from each other.
I believe that weโre at the very beginning of finding such systems and developing them into powerful tools for biotechnology. I’m proud of the resources Anthropic has invested in accelerating the public benefits of AI through the life (machine) sciences, and weโre aiming both to grow our life sciences team and to work with other scientists to extend this approach to a broad range of problems. Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages.
Beside the enzymeโs gene sits a long array of repeating DNAโa structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR.
We donโt yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use.

Study Proposes DNA Might Measure Cosmic Time Through Quantum Mechanics

DNA is not separate from the individual. It IS the individual manifested as time. DNA isn’t a separate “thing” from you that measures abstract time. Time is not abstract. Time is a noun; a person or an event or both in manifested form.
The scientists see the world in pieces. They see the body in pieces. Then the doctors cut it into pieces. IN FACT, obviously, every part of you functions as a WHOLE inside of your skin. Do you ever see your DNA all of a sudden leave your body and go measure something? Does your foot ever leave your body and go walk wherever it wants to? These people resist holism like a plague. Yet it is as obvious as the sun shining everyday and the grass being green. They don’t like that. It’s like men not liking that women make the babies in our bodies. They want to make babies in an AI exowomb. They hate nature because they can’t control it and become emperors over it. The power of the earth, birth, and women is stronger than patriarchy which they need to serve, protect, and cooperate with it, not rule over it so they can be equal to women.

The paper, published in the journal PLOS One by Nahuel Aquiles Garcia of GECORP in Buenos Aires, maps the genome of Mycobacterium tuberculosis โ the bacterium behind tuberculosis โ to quantum states and runs simulations to test whether DNAโs molecular structure allows it to respond to weak electromagnetic signals from space. The results, Garcia argues, suggest that DNA can pick up and translate cosmic frequency shifts into altered probabilities of genetic mutation.
The study does not claim to have proven this link experimentally. Rather, the paper offers a testable framework and a novel lens through which to understand how cells age, one of biologyโs most basic questions.
The central idea builds on a body of prior work suggesting DNA has quantum properties. Proton tunneling, which a quantum mechanical effect in which subatomic particles pass through energy barriers rather than over them, has been proposed as a mechanism that can cause temporary changes in how DNA base pairs bond, briefly producing the wrong bonding configuration during replication. If such a mispairing escapes the cellโs repair machinery, a mutation is fixed.
Garcia takes that known possibility further. He proposes that the timing of these quantum events โ and thus the odds that any mismatch survives long enough to become a heritable mutation โ can be shifted by incoming electromagnetic signals, including those from cosmic sources.
The specific signal in question is the cosmic microwave background, or CMB, the faint thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang that permeates the universe. Because the universe is expanding, the wavelengths of this radiation are slowly stretching, producing a tiny but predictable shift in frequency known as the Doppler effect. Garcia argues that DNAโs structural properties allow it to register this shift, essentially reading the universeโs expansion as a kind of clock. (It’s the Psi Bank)

He is careful to note, however, that the CMB is simply one convenient example of an external signal. The model does not depend on it, and Garcia explicitly invites future researchers to test other sources of structured electromagnetic input.
DNA as Antenna and Quantum Computer
The paper is centered on two prior claims about DNAโs physical properties. First, some researchers have proposed that DNA behaves like a fractal antenna, which is a self-similar structure that can interact with electromagnetic fields across a wide range of frequencies. (They are fractals; a 5-kin fractal with the frequency of the TONE) One such study reported that human DNA resonates with microwave radiation near 34 gigahertz. Second, work by several quantum biology researchers has described DNA as a system in which quantum entanglement โ a phenomenon where particles become correlated regardless of the distance between them โ may operate even at room temperature. (Yes, DNA humans have adapted to room temperature.)
Garcia combines these threads. He proposes that non-coding regions of the genome โ the large stretches of DNA that do not directly encode proteins, once dismissed as โjunk DNAโ โ act as receivers for external signals. (That is the epigenetic RNA. It is programmed BY YOU and the choices you make; environment, food, feelings etc.) Coding regions, which carry the instructions for making proteins, act as stable quantum processors. The two regions are entangled, meaning a signal detected in the non-coding region can influence what happens in the coding region. SPOT ON>
To test this model, Garcia encoded each of the four DNA base molecules โ adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine โ as quantum states, then ran computer simulations of how the entire tuberculosis genome would evolve under this framework. He measured entropy, a quantity that reflects informational diversity or disorder, in both coding and non-coding regions, and compared how each responded to simulated external signals.
The study found statistically significant differences between coding and non-coding regions in both classical and quantum entropy measures. Coding regions showed higher average informational complexity โ specifically, a Shannon entropy score of 1.92 compared with 1.81 for non-coding regions โ and greater consistency. Non-coding regions showed more variability, which Garcia interprets as evidence that they are more sensitive to external perturbations.
Simulations of proton tunneling dynamics, in which the probability of a proton crossing a hydrogen bond inside a base pair was tracked over time, showed meaningful differences between real DNA sequences and control sequences in which all nucleotides were artificially assigned to the same genomic category. A paired statistical test returned a p-value of approximately 0.004, suggesting the differences were unlikely to be due to chance.
Limitations
Garcia acknowledged several limitations of the work. The quantum model used is a simplified toy model, not a rigorous simulation of actual molecular physics. The double-well potential used to model proton tunneling is symmetric and generic, not derived from the known asymmetric properties of real DNA base pairs. More accurate calculations using quantum chemistry methods would require vastly more computing power.
The energy math is also not perfect. Garciaโs own calculations show that the CMB delivers so little energy to individual nucleotides โ roughly 10 to the power of negative 32 joules per second โ that even a DNA strand with 3 million nucleotides acting cooperatively would take roughly six days to accumulate the activation energy needed to trigger a proton transfer event. And those are extremely optimistic assumptions that ignore the shielding effects of tissue, atmosphere and competing thermal energy sources. He concludes the CMB cannot plausibly be a dominant energy driver for tunneling in living cells.
The paper argues that Doppler-shifted cosmic signals may bias the timing and probability of proton transitions already driven by the cellโs own thermal and biochemical energy, a modulation effect rather than an energy source. In this view, then, mutations are powered by cellular chemistry, but external rhythmic patterns could influence when proton tunneling events occur. The observed differences between real and shuffled DNA sequences in tunneling simulations are interpreted as evidence that sequence structure โ not just composition โ affects how DNA responds to structured external perturbations.
Evidence that DNA actually couples to electromagnetic fields at any relevant frequency is mixed but non-empty, the paper indicates. Some studies have reported microwave absorption in aqueous DNA preparations. Others found no such effect under different conditions, with results shown to depend heavily on hydration, ionic strength and the geometry of the experiment. Garcia acknowledges all of this and looks at the fractal antenna claim as โa phenomenological shorthandโ rather than an established in-vivo mechanism.
What Comes Next
Garcia offers a specific experimental test. He suggests growing bacteria inside and outside a Faraday cage โ a metallic enclosure that blocks external electromagnetic fields โ and tracking mutation dynamics in real time using methods recently developed to monitor replication errors in E. coli. If the hypothesis is correct, isolating bacteria from electromagnetic fields should produce measurable changes in mutation patterns.
A second proposed test would use CRISPR gene-editing technology to alter non-coding sequences โ the proposed antennae โ and compare mutation dynamics in edited and unedited bacterial strains, again in the presence and absence of electromagnetic shielding.
The study also reports that the same quantum behavioral patterns observed in M. tuberculosis appeared in simulations of the human CRY1 genem, a gene involved in regulating circadian rhythms, the biological clocks that govern daily cycles of sleep and wakefulness. That finding suggests the proposed mechanism may be conserved across species, Garcia writes.
The broader framing connects to some of the deepest questions in biology. Long-running experiments on bacterial evolution โ including *a four-decade study of E. coli by Michigan State University professor Richard Lenski that has tracked more than 75,000 generations โ have produced evolutionary leaps that classical mutation models struggle to explain.* Garciaโs paper does not claim to resolve that puzzle. But it does propose that quantum effects, acting on the timing windows that determine whether replication errors become permanent mutations, could be one underexplored variable.
Where Could It Lead?
Admitting that it is speculative, itโs interesting to guess where the work could lead. For example, if the hypothesis holds up, then it could open a provocative new window into the mechanisms of mutation, aging and evolution by suggesting that weak electromagnetic signals โ including those carrying cosmic timing information โ subtly bias which replication errors become permanent.
Confirmation might reshape our understanding of somatic mutation accumulation in cancer and age-related diseases, while offering synthetic biologists new tools to design DNA-based sensors or precisely controlled evolutionary systems.
At its most ambitious, the idea hints at a subtle but profound link between the large-scale expansion of the universe and the inner workings of living cells.
Garcia is careful to note, however, that all of this remains highly theoretical and will require extensive experimental validation before any practical applications emerge.
โThis work is based on a speculative hypothesis,โ Garcia writes in the paperโs discussion section. โWith the current state of knowledge, the results cannot be interpreted as direct evidence of cosmological influence on DNA.โ

Money is best used for expansion of good ideas that serve humanity. It doesn’t matter how much money that costs. The issue is not the cost. The issue is getting it done without emotional manipulation of people’s feelings or too much drama.
People who don’t have big ideas see money as status and self esteem. That’s ego aggrandizement because they are absent spirit and intelligence. That crosses over into crime. The question is, “What is your motivation for having money?”
Big money IS needed to expand big ideas. Don’t be a jealous hater on movers and shakers. It’s big karma for hating on someone that has power to do good in the world.
Money is a business transaction, not a fake relational tool to manipulate someone’s feelings. Men mostly use it on women but some men are in touch with their feelings and can be manipulated also.
The two don’t mix; money and emotions, materialism and love. But the two have become conflated to be sure in our materialistic society. It’s a problem.
The solution is to know yourself and make sure your values are correct.
